newby- hello!

Postby a-fordable on Wed Jan 27, 2010 9:07 pm

Hello! 1:43 crowd. new to forum. I like what I see. was invited by a couple of members. I am a senior citizen. not realy a collector. just have some things I picked up for the children, now enjoying them with the Grands. I am an X drag racer, life long shade tree mechanic, now a racing historian. when I can remember!

Welcome on in. There are a few of us that have "a little mileage on the chassis." The more the merrier. We like to think that this is the nicest place where the inmates are in charge of the asylum!

BTW my grandsons are only two and already have a wonderful collection of racecars!

Glad you could make it. I'm sure you'll find it laid back here! We have a couple of members that like Fords. Welcome to the site!

And don't worry about the age thing, I have a couple of grandchildren myself.

Welcome to scale 1:43 :D
Sounds like you've had an interesting past and as a racing historian i'm sure your knowledge will be passed on and appreciated.

Hey welcome to the forum. The forum is heavily knowledged based so join in as your input will be most welcome.

And i'm at that first stage - buying things for the kids (me actually but don't tell her indoors) toplay with ;)

Cheers

And
British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

All the world's roads have potholes. We also have pothumps. This is where the local council drops a slightly too large dollop of tarmac into the hole and then lets passing traffic finish the job.

Thanks for the warm welcome GUYS. have 13 grands- oldest 15- youngest 5- have 5 children. I an't tellin my age- you all might eject me! I spent many years racing and building others cars to support the children. so I missed a lot of years with them. I will not miss with grands. I am not a collector. I just picked up a lot of junk during the years! I am a novice in drag racing history, and if you don't tel anyone early nascar also. of course I git dizzy goin round in circles.LOL!
I have a few diecast pieces & a few plastic pieces that I will share a little at a time. Thanks again - band of brothers.
