Hello from Manila

Post by Gene1215 » Wed Apr 29, 2015 11:51 pm

Hello guys! Used to collect 1:18th scale models (sold most of them) and recently discovered how amazing this smaller scale (1:43). Now I'm back to collecting again with renewed passion. Will post pics soon.

P.S.

Welcome to the forum

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Thank you for the warm welcome guys!

@JSB
Skylines for now and planning on getting them Ferraris.
I have HPIs and some Ignition models. Proud convert to 1:43rd scale. The prices on those bigger scales are too much for me right now. :)

Ignition oh dear you got 'that' spendy affliction. Ignition not so far off price from 1/18 though :?

Skyline is fine by me, more hot for the first gen GTR personally.

Nah, I got them for like $110 compared to almost $200 on eBay. I usually ask a friend to get them for me whenever he visits Japan. And they are cheaper there (compared in bay). Less the the shipping and tax. Most of my models are HPIs which I believe cost less thank $70. :)

Welcome aboard Gene - lots of interest here in Skylines, Ferraris and everything in between!

Your 'downscaling' sounds like many others here although some of have been deviating up a notch and down another...

At the same time, many 1/43 collectors feel that prices have also been increasing..... at quite an alarming rate, mind you....

Welcome!

Welcome. And yes, all scales are getting more expensive. I stopped collecting 1:18 because of the required space...

True, I just hope they keep the prices lower than their bigger counter part. Plus, the space I'm saving displaying my collection.

Thanks, seppuku!

Totally agree with you. Displaying them is such a joy even if you don't have that much space.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Gene. Many of us have travelled the 1:18 path before finding a home with 1:43.
