British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

All the world's roads have potholes. We also have pothumps. This is where the local council drops a slightly too large dollop of tarmac into the hole and then lets passing traffic finish the job.

It looks nice, is the finish quality better thsn the R8 series they did a few years back?

Never seen an R8 in person but if they were anything less than utterly perfect the answer is yes

And now one from the other end of the 1/18 sealed resin price range from Otto of France. These limited editions retail at 39 Euro direct from Otto and so far have been limited to French cars that have not previously been modelled. They are exceptional value for money and i'm sure this will lead to comparisons with Sparks sealed resin model. Judge for yourself but having them here together I can tell you that the finish and quality of the Spark is far superior but of course the law of diminishing returns applies.

Cheers Craig. Like you i do like a performance French car even though i know they have the structural integrity of an egg, which is what makes them so damn quick

And i picked up this as well which is incredibly difficult to keep dust and fingerprint free. I resorted to gloves, a soft cloth and a brush. What a cracking model though - just don't touch it!!

Andy,
I always use cotton gloves (available from chemists) plus a 1" sable hair artists brush.
If eventually I have to clean them I use cotton buds to apply polish and detail plus the use of aforementioned gloves.
The bugbear in 1/43 is wipers, particularly etched, you have to be soooooooooo careful.
Cheers,
David

Hi David

I have a pair of white cotton gloves (and a whistle and some glowsticks......) which i use infrequently as i usually hold cars by the wheels.

Fortunately my displays are virtually dust free so i use a large soft make up brush and a soft cloth - i often use the dry Mr Sheene wipes which attract the dust first too.

In terms of cleaning i apply the same principal as my 1/1 cars - except the cutting back bit - and use a cloth with finger tips or like you cotton buds with car polish and then a finishing compound. Wipers are the biggets pain - how many i've removed over the years i don't know however i have some spare wipers here, but i can't find any cars with wipers missing :?

This really only applies to models i but second hand though

Cheers

Achingly beautiful. Fell in love with the real thing when I saw one back in January. Sadly the only pic I could get was the interior, but even that is a beautiful piece of design. Quite stunning.
