Paper models

Postby bomber21 on Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:38 am

Last night,I came across a site that hosts pdf files containing car designs which you print and then assemply!

Has anyone experience with this hobby?I printed a BMW 7 Series but it looks a bit difficult for me to assembly!

I haven't tried anything as complicated as what's on those sites. The only thing I ever tried was a postcard-sized model of the Sears tower in Chicago that turned out OK. For me, the hardest part was getting a clean, straight cut on the edges.

I've made buildings from printed downloads. They are pretty complex and very time consuming, but rewarding to do. Most of them are also paid downloads, so you would expect them to be of a decent quality.

This is the site I've used

For decent results with these, a sharp knife and metal ruler were a must. Likewise plenty of patience!

If you think that's difficult, spare a thought for these guys who made a 1:1 scale papercraft Honda NSX JGTC! :o
