New U.S. castings by Neo

Postby 43rdMuscle on Mon Mar 08, 2010 7:32 am

I decided to make a new thread on this one because the old "title" was misleading.

I'm glad to see that some diecast companies are "broadening their horizons" in 1/43 scale but I don't quite understand why no midsized cars (except maybe the Camaro...but '78).

'68 Pontiac Bonneville
'52 Chevrolet
'67 Cadillac Eldorado
'72 Pontiac Grand Prix
'76 Ford LTD "4-door" (I don't know why a 4 door?)
'82 Cadillac Fleetwood
'58 Chevrolet Belair
...and others

OK...same answer then... :)

'68 Pontiac Bonneville ---Cool!!!
'52 Chevrolet ---They were so boring!!! Why not a '52 Ford, instead!
'67 Cadillac Eldorado ---Great!
'72 Pontiac Grand Prix ---Very interesting car!
'76 Ford LTD "4-door" (I don't know why a 4 door?) ---and, why a '76??? :x
'82 Cadillac Fleetwood ---Interesting!
'58 Chevrolet Belair ---Why not an Impala instead? Or better yet, a '58 Plymouth! :)

;)

They've just added a '74 Buick Le Sabre today ... and it's a 2 door coupe. Talk about a big car! :o I would rather have seen a Buick GS or better yet a 455 GSX. 8-)

Thanks for the info GENTS. ----- I plan to buy 76 different examples of the LTD. not only am I awaiting the 4 door, but see if you can persuade them to produce a 5 door "as in wagon" :D I have always enjoyed driving the odd balls, I guess I am an odd ball  seriously, it is good to know that companys produce models of different types for people who have an attraction to cars that may not have been popular. Everybody makes a mustang, porshe,camaro,vette-ect. I want a PINTO---FRANK  ----------------------------------------

It was a great little car, paid a couple of hundred for it and got my monies worth many times over.

Wasn't Ford Pinto used in original Charlie's Angels TV-series as well? I'd like to have that in 1/43 as well and while at it, the other similar size American cars, AMC Pacer & Gremlin :)

Frank, take it from me, you can fit a 396 in a Vega, if you are willing to get along without some of the inner fender liners... ;)
(and if you don't mind the blurry vision that occurs while trying to hold onto it at full go  )

Sort of like a 454 in a 63 Acadian...

Now...that would be a great 1:43 model! :o Any of the huge Ford Country Squire station wagons from the 60s and/or 70s! :)

Not heard of Traction Control then

I'd be a starter for a V8 Vega or a Cossy version. Also would love someone to do some Stang2 Cobras and Charlie Kemp's race version

Cheers

The '72 Pontiac Grand Prix seems to be a very interesting choice. It was one of the last true musclecars. The SJ model had a 455/300hp (300hp...hmmm) with a 4 speed automatic. That car was a real "mover" considering its size (even though it had 2 ft. between the radiator and the fan).
