This was already shown in this thread - http://scale143.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=10281 on page five of the pdf, we're still waiting for the models.

i'd really like some 50/60's American cars in my collection, wish they'd hurry up and release them (and the prices) - these look to be about the quality vs £'s area i like to be in.

Thanks for the paint chips Baxter. Yes, the shades are wrong on the Ranch Wagon. Maybe the delays have to do with getting the colors right?

Here is a vintage ad with a yellow Starliner. I note that the roof of this car isn't white.

I have the Premium-X 1960 Ranch Wagon, so I won't buy the Starliner unless they do a NASCAR version. I also have the 1959 Franklin Mint Skyliner, so I don't need another 1959 Ford. But the Franklin Mint is heavy-handed. If it weren't for the wonderful folding top I could get rid of it. I may get the red & white wagon.

These models are taking a long time to arrive and I haven't seen any announcements of what will follow. The 1967 Cougar already has been modeled so I don't think it will do much to prop up the company. I fear that this is a "one and done" diecast company.

Great looking add (in Spanish) of one of my favourite large Fords from the 60s! :)

Diecast Direct is listing these as in stock and @ $85.
A bit high to me.

They appear to be Ixo quality. I'd say half that asking price is about par for the course.

High price because don't forget they're resin.... :( Now if only IXO could be persuaded to do the Starliner in diecast metal I'd snap one up straight away.

At that price, you'd think they'll be in the "30% off" sales 6 months from now, and probably the less popular colour in the "50% off" sales 12 months from now.

Amen to that. For the Starliner and pretty much anything made in white metal as well.

I'm assuming that I will buy one of these Starliners eventually.

This is Drew from Motorhead Miniatures. We have released our first two models under the Ford Genuine Parts brand. We have shipped the 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon and the 1960 Ford Galaxie Starliner. We already know that the spelling of "Galaxie" was incorrect on our labels, having been spelled "Galaxy". I can't believe that one slipped under our constant quality radar, but now I see it as a "signature" on our premiere release.
We have also pulled back the 1968 Cougars and corrected the body for authenticity. New images for that and other great new Ford models coming soon. Stay tuned. And we hope you enjoy collecting our models as much as we enjoy bringing them to you.

It is good to see some Company response to the feedback we and others have been giving. No doubt that standards posed by the competition are now very high and serious collectors will not pay high prices for items that don't meet our expectations.

The amount of data available out there to ensure details/colours and colour schemes etc are correct is huge. Many of us buyers of 1:43 are old enough to recall the 1:1s of those times and won't accept 'near misses or completely wrong interpretations'. It'd be nice to see whitewall tyres on the right cars too.

Good luck with getting the products - and the prices - right.

Too much to hope for diecast metal versions I guess....

Yes, we are a fussy bunch!

Nice to see that the collective internet wisdom is put to good use and will benefit the quality of the products. Kudos for listening.

I'm glad to see that the Cougar will get a makeover and if it turns out well, at least one will be joining my collection as will the Starliner.

I just hope that the Starliner is released with whitewalls, far more usual for a car of that period! 8-)

Hi Drew, nice of you to check in.
So happy to hear the Cougar is going back to the drawing board, it would have been a mistake to release it as it was.

Don't be a stranger, plenty of interest here in what you are doing and we are always happy to let you know what you are doing wrong

Drew,

I'm going offer some thoughts on the '68 Cougar. First, the early prototype reminds me of the '67 Cougar by Vitesse.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, maybe a special version of the '68 Cougar would get more attention. I'm thinking of the relatively rare XR7-G (Dan Gurney special) or better yet, the Cougar GT.

Some more images for Galaxy Starliner. I really like the look of this model. Would love to see the version with whitewall tires.

Super model and I agree it is crying out for whitewalls.
