Spark 2015

Post by Jager » Sat Jan 24, 2015 1:05 am

Spark have just given their website a major revamp. One of the biggest changes I've noticed is they've now added all of the special regional releases to their database for the first time.

That's right. I really appreciate the inclusion of regional releases. Now if they could just slot in the Bizarre and RedLine catalogue as well.

Agreed on the Bizarre front but the Redline range is surely long defunct?

But the Redline models are still swimming around in the second hand market and I'd like to know what has been produced without endlessly surfing around the internet. I bet it would take a person a day to upload all the models to the database.

The Redline website was still working up until about a year ago, but unfortunately they shut it down. Even though the website no longer exists, you can use a cool program called the 'Time Machine' to see cached copies of the website. The link below should show you the Redline website on the 10th Jan 2010 with their listing of all the race cars.

I don't think Spark will post the Redline models on its website - they always seemed to keep Redline at an 'arms length' from Spark, possibly due to complication with the Ferrari licencing issue. The Redline website never actually made any mention of their links with Spark.

Finally getting a Corvette DP this year...according to the catalog at least.

Shame to see all those Marlboro cars with the sides blurred out...stupid editing of history.

there's certainly some interesting releases coming from Spark.

What i don't get are the Le Mans 95 & 96 Mclaren F1 GTRs they have listed. Surely there are enough of these that have already been released on the market place.

I also don't get why they plan to release Ford GT40's that Bizarre has already released. Yet, many GT40's from Le Mans remain unreleased at the same time.

I agree Stu. Spark have lost the plot if they think they'll sell any meanful volume of the McLarens when the market is still flooded with cheap, high quality HPI's.

I like the look of the Calloway Corvette's from the same period though.

Thanks for the link! I guess I'm old-school and prefer .pdf files so I made one. Here it is:

I think part of this thread should go to Spark 2015 right?

Douglas, many thanks for the pdf in fact I could not check their online catalogue on my phone so your file opened my eyes (literally) hehe

At some point I am sad because there are no major news for my collection as they are focusing so much on racing this year but at the same time this is also good as the wish list is super short. The worst part is that my wish list goes for Matrix which is terribly expnsive :(

Love the Aston Shooting Break and might think to swap my MC Porsche 959 to Spark!

Paulius, I recall that Spark switched all of their concept cars to the 'Bizarre' line last year.

Eg, in the Bizarre 2014 catalogue ( www.grandprixmodels.com/emailimage/bizcat14.pdf ) there were the following :

1970 Lancia Stratos Zero
1973 Opel Electro GT
1977 Panther 6
1979 Dome Zero P2
1979 Mercedes C111 Nardo
1992 Yamaha OX99
2002 Opel Eco Speedster

Was there any sign of 'Bizarre' at the Toyfair ? I'm wondering how long its been since Bizarre released a model and if they've actually shut down. As we noted previously, the Bizarre website disappeared some time ago.

Yes Bizarre is still around last year they made several models.

This year I saw in some pics on the net they showed the new Panther six wheeler and Dynamax concept (maybe some other models too, havent been to their stand).
