NOREV Miscues

Postby PolishMofoBMW92 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 12:17 pm

Hello guys! My name's Adam and I come from Poland but I live in Scotland. Started collecting models since very young age but due to many different and not comfortable life circumstances had to get rid of my collection.

But Hey! Here we go again! Since few months my enthusiasm to miniatures returned and started collecting them again and so far doing quite well.

Anyway for a start would like to share my trouble/disappointment in brand known as Norev.

Seems to me like it's gonna be the first miscues topic about Norev models and already got two, my own for a shoot out.

Red Golf Gti MK1 and Black Golf Gti MK1 Pirelli

Both models are really wanted these days specially the Pirelli one so soon after I noticed it on eBay, couldn't give up and simply win the auction. So I did!

Pirelli model was from private collection, even the display case was covered up in dust but didn't really care since the car was kept in a brilliant condition until my "Hawkeye" noticed the paint chip on the fender just above the front light. I almost started to panic since I was so gutted I purchased damaged model for nearly 60 pounds but then!

My red Golf was still in original box and never taken out the plastic foil and guess what?! Noticed the same issue! Paint chip, slightly smaller but in exact same place in a brand new model.

Does it mean paint job by Norev is done with a poor quality?

I took some photos with my iPhone so the quality isn't the greatest but I circled the places where paint is missing and I am dying to share those photos but website does it let me. It says: "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

Whatever that means. Tell me how to upload the photos and I'll gladly share my experience with you.

Cheers

Dude it works! You're a star I swear! So here you go. Pictures shown and as I've said, it's Norev's Miscue, poor paint quality more like haha!

... Well it ain't funny. Ruins the whole model.

Will have to check mine tomorow
I'm not addicted to models, an addict admits their problems & I don't have a problem.

Could it be different sides for different markets? Same as the exhaust pipe?

I think there are twin exhausts, but the reasoning could still stand.

Haven't seen any car with fuel cap located on different sides in different markets. Mazda usually have fuel cap in left side of the car, only the first & second gen Mazda 3 had it in the right side as they had much of Ford design in them. Now the latest Mazda 3 has it again in left side according to photos.
The model have indeed dual exhaust, not sure about the real car, maybe with some engines there is dual exhaust, some smaller engines just one, maybe in right side.
