La Ferrari by Hotwheels

Post by AdamYip » Tue Nov 03, 2015 10:31 am

I've always wanted to wait for the Kyosho La Ferrari with opening doors shown in the Nuremberg Toy Fair a few years ago, but it seems like its not going happen after the licence being sold to Burago. So, I finally got this La Ferrari made by Hotwheels after seeing the one made by Burago Signature Series. Surprisingly, its a pretty nice model compared to the Burago version.

I have always thought that the HW ferraris were quite decent models. Would love to have this one too.

What a pity such a significant car is caught up in the licencing complexities. Consideing the Hotwheeels is the only reasonably priced option, it seems nicely done.

There is a BBR for twice the price, but maybe for such an iconic car its worth paying the extra :

I bought the HW La Ferrari for my 10 year old nephew last year, got the LS one for myself. That's a good starting bid on that BBR.

Is a very decent model.
Body lines are difficult to replicate, HWE performed some changes, such as vent behind the front wheels.

The La Ferrari does worth paying the extra cash for the BBR or Looksmart version. But I'd prefer model cars with free rolling wheels, so the Hotwheels version is the only decent one available. Somehow, I think the Burago Signature Series version looks horrible.

Adam

I am not sure that the price will drop for the Mattel LaFerrari Julio. At the moment the red one is 70+ euro. I paid above 60 and to be honest the quality of my example was below average. I sold it almost immediately and now I am looking for LookSmart LaFerrari.

Euro 70 for a 1:43 Mattel. That must be a record !

Where did you get it?

That's about as much as I would pay for a Hot Wheels model... :?

Last week I saw an example of a burago 458 Special. It's awful and is a 'toy'. Makes HW version look far superior by comparison. Bb must try harder before collectors will even look at them.

I saw the 458 Speciale too from the internet and it does look like a toy. I'd better grab the Hotwheels version before its sold out.
