Julio & Ian, true, I bought it about 3 months ago from a seller in the US. It came to me via Jeff & Andy and I have only just taken it out of it's box to put in the cabinet!

It is a nice model as many members of S143 have attested.
Cheers,
David

Great colour for it. I was trying to remember if there was a 1:1 at the centenary celebrations in Kensington Palace Gardens in 2013. There wasn't unless it was tucked away in a separate Aston owners' car park. However there was a G registered dark blue 4 door with the 1966 DBS grille.

Eclectic additions ;)

Which reminds me I still have to get the Lagonda that is reserved for me somewhere. I like the Chiron in this colour. Just because it looks kind of sophisticated, not sporty at all. The Wind is a very special car in my opinion. Underrated.

Great to see you are staying consistently inconsistent with your recent additions - classic Alfa, lovely Ford, mad Bugatti, classy Aston and a car I had never heard of (Wind).

Good to see the all the multiple personalities still get a say in your collecting habits.

Is this one inconsistent too, Martin?
Taken me a long while to get around to this.

You got the best colour for it, David. Great choice, I have the same model.

Thanks guys for the positive comments. The Audi coupe collection is filling out.
I held out for the light metallic blue as they were going for silly money (1 on eBay@ £95). Fortunately, I got mine for a fifth of that.

David

Colour is spot on. Nice. I can see an Audi-NSU search coming on to fill a couple of gaps in my own collection.

I can see that Renault Wind being a 'future classic' which seem to be the way with quirky stuff. There was a 1:1 non Gordini round our way for a time but haven't seen it lately. We do have two Renault Dealerships within five miles either side of town so probably not the surprise it ought to be. There's also a Zoe electric a few hundred yards away as the crow flies. The owner also has a Porker 911 and a 635 Beemer to keep things in perspective...

Was at Neckarsulm on Monday in the Audi plant, they have the exact same Coupé in that color in the Expo, it looks awesome as model and in 1:1.

Yes David, very much up to scratch.

I gave enough trouble keeping up with my themes and admire collections with variety.

That's a very tasty Audi. Definitely a future classic.

The Blue Audi 100 is fabulous, one car Minichamps have captured really well. Do we know why Minichamps have odd production quantities for their models. Why not 1 of 3,000 etc instead of 1 of 2,832 as per the Audi?

Probably depends on how many models fit in a large box, and how many boxes they make.

From previous discussions of this topic, I recall that the number in the most part are multiples of 24 which reflects the whole shipment quantities that Minichamps ship out.

I cross checked against some of the Minichamps production numbers I have in my collection database and it applies to many of the common production runs such as 744, 912, 1008, 1056, 1104, 1200, 1344, 1488, 1584, 1632, 1680, 1728, 1824, 1920, 2112, 2400, 2688, 2832, 3024, 3264, 3504, 3840, 4080, 4752 & 5832.

However it doesn't hold true for all production runs, especially anything ending in 9, 99 or 999.

Already a classic, in fact... with single-model clubs all over the world and an international meeting every year.
