I've seen other members on the forum get this car - and fell for its charms as a result.

I have the PW Aston and I love it, looks far better than its price. The Zagato is a future add for me and I like the Granada a lot too.

I have that Spitfire and I love that it's in that Seventies odd purple-blue. But the blue seats drive me crazy! In fact, I was just on eBay a few days ago looking for another Vitesse with a different interior. I think the others are black, which I don't really want either. I was hoping for tan. I may end up buying a Spark in a less exciting color simply because of Vitesse's mistake.

Speaking of the TR6, I have three of the Minichamps version in different colors. It's evident that MC has never seen an actual TR6 because none of them have a matte black tail. This is typical of their shoddy research department. The Detail Cars version is a better model overall and the Solido isn't bad.

I think you'll find the Solido TR6 was from the Detail mould.

I will take your word. Different door handles but they share the same too short windshield. They're all in storage so I was only looking at photos. The particular Solido version I was looking at was the race version which made direct comparison more difficult. Looking at street cars, I see that the Detail has better detailing in the wheel trim, front lights and interior.

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

Now you see what you chaps have done. This is your fault.

Minichamps Triumph Spitfire Mk IV. My brother and i went to look at one of these for his first car. 2 slight problems. Missing 3rd gear and reverse.....

Image

A very close family friends father who was in the CID (and sadly no longer with us) used to drive one of these as his day car. I remember it as it had the spare wheel mounted on top of the rear boot so all the copper paraphanelia could be kept in the boot which i found fascinating as a young kid. His was dark green or brown from memory. This rather insipid Almond coloured Rover P6 3500 V8 is by Vanguards. Rover really did come up with some pants colours.

Image

I've also liked the MGB GT, and the rare V8 versions always draw my eye. This old Dinkys casting isn't up to todays standards, but was the only V8 model i could find. Colour is pretty washed out in the flesh, but it wasn't an expensive buy so will do for me.

Image

Rover Vitesse SD1 3500 V8 - futuristic at the time and the wheels were very bling back when this first came out. Nice Minichamps mdoel.

Image

A raft (or should that be a "Bond"?) of Aston Martin's from my Aston collection next.

Aston Vantage Volante Zagato by Spark

Image

Aston DBS - Eaglemoss - yep, i know, hideous car, knockoffs, windscreen wipers and wingmirrors massively oversized, ride height all wrong. To be honest, i don't really like this 1970s DBS at all, but i needed one for my collection and wasn't prepared to pay much to get one - so i will live with all of these failings and the James Bond computer keyboard on the passenger dash :D

Image

To finish up I took a gamble and bought this Chinese resin cast model of the Bentley Turbo R. I've always been a "Bentley Boy" rather than a "Rolls Man". Whilst not up to top resin cast company quality, this "A Top Collector" resin cast with opening doors and in resplendant "Knightsbridge in the Summer" bling translucent red was a good buy for 32 of your finest english pounds (plus postage).

Superb additions! I have the MG B GT and several of the Astons, but not enough of them...

Early TR6es had the rear panel painted body colour.

I've been quite tempted by those Chinese Bentleys... :?

Now that I've seen yours, I might go for one of those...

Quite the selection. Pants colour aside the P6 looks great

I forgot to upload this one. My uncle who sadly passed away recently used to own either a Jag or a Daimler - can't remember which, but I can remember the twin fuel tanks which used to switch over as you were driving. I've always felt the Minichamps Coupe big Jag was a nice looker.

I agree, and I used to have a 1:36 Corgi in the same colour. This would be a very nice replacement.

I meant to comment on the Dinky MGBGT V8. It's probably one of the most accurate castings around. I agree it would have looked better in Damask Red (as chosen for the original MG publicity leaflet) rather than the nondescript colour DY chose. As Blaze Orange was used on their other MGB GT (Collector Mail Order version) that would have been better used on the V8.

Also White Box seem to have made a reasonable job of the ex-partworks One-77. Only the lack of silver on the bonnet grills let it down. Even though it's white I shall add it to my Aston Collection. Early pre production 1:1 One-77 was a nice medium blue metallic, a colour which is much more classy than the bling white....
