Hongwell Cararama Land-Rover Defender 110

Post by Chris Sweetman » Fri Nov 12, 2010 4:07 pm

Well it looks like Land-Rover night! Here is Hongwell's take on the Defender 110. One thing is for sure you can't beat this one for detail at the price point. This was one of my amazing buys in 2008. I bought this model for £2.50! :D

Really nice Chris, I love Landrovers (must be something to do with growing up in africa...) and there is definately no doubt you got a bargain there :D

Really can't complain at anything that resembles a car for £2.50, but even so a dab of paint to detail the blue wipers and door handles would be a nice little mod.

The next one I buy I will splash paint on it to give it a "just been for a play" look!

Absolutely beautiful photos Chris - you've matched the car to background with perfection!

Seeing your photos makes me feel great as I have this same model on order even though I paid about 2 pounds more

Like others, I too like Land Rovers, perhaps since I have family who've owned a few before they became a symbol of 'trophy wives' in the US

Cheers, BB

If only more cars were don so well by the value priced makers. Really looking good but I suspect part of the draw is the great pictures.

Thank you BB. :D I have always liked L-R's since I was a kid must be because they were featured in wildlife programmes in exciting locations.

In the past 4 X 4's were basic vehicles without creature comforts like carpets etc... but now manufacturers load 'em up with all sorts of gadgets so they can sell them as status symbols.

I am sure you will enjoy this cheapie when it arrives BB. ;)

I see where you are coming from Jeff. Unfortunately, Hongwell hasn't approached me for a six feature advertising deal! Or come to that even a two figure one!

Just how good is this Hongwell Landy? I managed to find some real L-R Defender images taken last year at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon England.

The Centre users this vehicle for taking passengers on their Off-road section. I can tell you this is fun and when I find out how to up load movies I will post a link here.

Anyway here is the real Defender:

So how good is the Hongweel model? Also one can use the above pics to compare how well Corgi Classics Vanguards replicated this in 1:43rd scale.

Great value for money!

I also have an Audi Q7 by Cararama (bought for 3 euros) and it looks great!

This is my Schuco Junior Line LR Defender 90. Cost £5.00 on Amazon. More proof that sometimes wee bargains can be very effective. 8-)
