thanks for all the positive feedback, especially coming from other model car collecters and model car builders. i did make fast
progress , but had two days off from work after christmas so i worked on it for 4 days straight. back to reality and back to my normal job today. i find it easy to work on something for hours at a time when the subject matter is something your really passionate about and your
progress is positive. because i had no idea how this project might turn out.

Some top notch work has gone into this so far. I can't wait to see the finished truck as it looks very good already.

The detail is coming along very nicely, can't wait to see it with a coat of yellow paint. I think the hardest part to model on the Cobra truck will be the box at the back of the cab.

Marvelous work with the 302 transporter. Can't wait to see the final result. As some posted earlier, where can I get one of these?

thanks guys, i have been side tracked and have not made any more progress. need to get correct orange paint from automotive
paint supplier. i recently went to NNL West , a model car show in california. mostly 1/24 plastic car models. one guy had about 7
chaparral model kits built. being a big chaparral fan i was greatly inspired to build (if possible) a 1/24 scale model of each chaparral
that raced. some kits are easy to find ,some are hard to find and others are close to impossible to find. so if anybody has these kits,
i would like to buy or trade.
1/24 2g chaparral any brand
1/24 2d chaparral sebring version car #12 by modelers (very rare )
1/24 2d chaparral daytona version car #65 by modelers (very rare) but a cheap version was done by monogram (easy to find)

thanks , will post chaparrals in 1/24 topic as i get some built

Thought I'd resurect this thread as Exoto have just released the Cobra transporter Bill was attempting to build - just in time for the arrival of the TSM Cobra's.

Another one for the list
Andy

British roads have history. Some were built by the Romans. British road investment being what it is, they have only been re-surfaced a few times since.

From what I have seen of the TSM Daytonas perhaps an enclosed hauler might be better

What? After years of hibernation Exoto is releasing a new 1/43 model? The truck looks excellent, I want one. I guess it's better late than never. ;)

I think a few of us want one Tom.......the question is whether we're willing to part with $500 for one (even the current 'sale' price of $350 looks pretty steep. They've produced a truckload of these, so with almost 4,000 made in 3 different versions hopefully prices will fall quickly :

EXO00064 - 1964 Transporter, Viking Blue (Limited Edition of 964 pieces)
EXO00065 - 1965 Transporter, Guardsman Blue (Limited Edition of 965 pieces)
EXO00066 - 1966 Transporter, Ford Blue (Limited Edition of 966 pieces)
EXO00066GS2 - 1966 Transporter Gift Set, inc two Ford GT40's (Limited Edition of 966 pieces)

I like the option of being able to add 2 IXO GT40's for the low price of $210 :D

That's terrible! I assumed that they were produced by Exoto. Although they aren't listed separately in 1:43, they do have 1:18 so I thought they made a small amount of them and that's why they cost so much. I have the 1934 Alfa transporter and would love to buy another of their models but then I look at how many other 1:43 I could buy with that money.

My personal favourite is the 1934 Grand Prix of Monaco Gift Set.

You can buy the transporter individually for $99, but for 'just' $299 you can get a set with a Rio Alfa Romeo P3. $200 for a $30 Rio model is just taking the mickey out of collectors :x .

They won't let me see that one because I live in the USA. I guess the US distributor of Rio forbid sale of that set.
