Does anybody make RVs in 1:43?

Post by Arizona Joe » Wed Feb 25, 2015 9:49 am

I've been on the hunt for RVs in 1:43 scale for years now, but I've never found any. Actually, I found a Tootsietoy Winnebago dating from the 70s, but it's a very crude representation of the RV (even for my standards). I'm not complaining or anything, I just want to know if anyone has ever found RVs in 1:43 scale. If so, I would love to know about them.

I believe there were a couple of RVs mentioned in the recent Nuremberg Toy Fair Reports.

Hmm........... you know what this reminds me of?
The GMC Motorhome of the '70s.
Nice model, but never heard of the Travko.

Premium Classixxs has done quite a few European campers, but they are probably a bit small to be considered true RV's by most Americans :

It would be easy for Spark to make something like this and it could possibly appeal to a broader audience.

Norev has covered some 'modern' European style campers such as this Renault shown below!

This one sort of reminds me of the new Winnebago Trend. Well-represented model.

I like those VW Campers. The Travco also looks like a nice vehicle (sort of reminds me of my personal favorite, the GMC motorhomes of the 1970s), but I've never heard of the Travco. Can someone tell me a little more about it?

Is that a Mercedes? If so, wow. Cool.

SO, anything else on the plate in this scale?
(Really want the Travco.)

Greenline does some 1:76s- the RV from 'Breaking Bad' and a smaller camper based on a Chevy C10.

White Rose made a 1:43 Winnebago about a decade ago. It's commonly seen with a college motif on the side. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PENN-STATE-WINN ... 3f3fac9cee. I have never seen a plain version. I tried to strip one many years ago to repaint it but the solvent distorted the windows. Look for one in the $15 to $20 range. The quality is about on the level of an Ertl.

Nice! Now the only thing keeping my away from these is a very shallow wallet.
